Knowing is independent of being. I did not know you existed before you bumbled in here and ruined my nap, yet that doesn't mean you weren't real before you woke me.
- Solembum the Werecat
- Solembum the Werecat
Full Name:
Azimuth. Called Rockfang by the dwarves.
Age:
Unknown.
Race:
Werecat.
Occupation:
None.
Gender:
Male.
Religion:
None.
Magic:
His knowledge of the Ancient Language is extensive, on par with that of an Elf, but he cannot use magic. However Azimuth is a formidable telepath.
Birthplace:
Who knows...
Strengths:
+ Cunning.
+ Deceit.
+ Agility.
Weaknesses:
- Physically weak.
- Rather poor ability to transform.
- Gets himself into all kinds of trouble.
Personality:
Werecats tend to be strange, Azimuth is no exception. He has no set personality, rather, he experiments with different ones to see how effective they are in helping him achieve something he wants or needs. This doesn't mean he's some kind of cliche' emotionless robot of a character, oh no. He experiences love, hate, all that jazz, he's just very good at hiding it. Because of a lack of socializing on any level, intimate friendships, and halfway decent parenting, he mostly views people as a device, or an equation. They have a certain way to be built, repaired, disassembled, solved, or written. Azimuth often will have someone pegged down based on first or second impressions, testimony by a third party, or examination of their habits or personal belongings. What he does not seem to bother including into his observations is basic human emotion...Azimuth is confused by guilt and compassion, why a person would do anything for anybody else without expecting some sort of compensation. These concepts are beyond him.
Appearance:
Cat Form
Human Form
Azimuth's primary form is that of cat. Unlike other notable werecats, he looks just like an ordinary house cat, with black fur and yellow eyes. He has the ability to transform into a figure resembling a human in order to blend in if necessary, although there are several flaws with this second form that he's never been able to nail down, those being his tail, cat ears, and pointy teeth remaining. Other than that he looks like a very slim adolescent boy, with bright blue eyes and messy gray hair. He prefers to remain nude after transforming into his human form, he finds clothes to be uncomfortable. Azimuth will put on a simple outfit regardless, because of the mortal race's social etiquette, if nothing else.
Weapons:
Claws and fangs.
History:
Werecats are living, breathing mysteries. And I would prefer Azimuth to stay that way, for now at least. His background will be revealed in detail during the RP eventually, if you will grant me this one request.
RP Sample:
((From The Jedi Civil War RP. You can compare email if you don't believe I wrote it.))
Being alone in a starship is a curious experience. Your basically floating around an infinite vacuum inside a tiny bubble of oxygen, and the only sounds you can here are gentle whirring of the ship's CPU, and your own breathing and heartbeat. This is precisely what Azimuth was doing now, traveling through space in a stolen Jedi starfighter. Bored and restless, he checked the ship's navigation system and confirmed for the hundredth time he was indeed headed toward Ossus. His eyes, drooped in annoyance, shifted to the fuel and energy readouts. Three green bars, enough to last him two weeks. Two long, boring weeks...
Not two days earlier Azimuth had abandoned the Jedi Order. They're restrictions had always annoyed him, but he put up with it, because he was brought up be made to understand they were necessary to condition you to resist temptation, to resist falling from grace, and turning to the Dark Side. The concept of an organization of Force-using peacekeepers was all well and good on paper, but history has proved time and time again the Jedi were simply too weak to stand the test of time. The Dark Jedi were even worse. They sparked a war that would cause decades, if not centuries of strife and suffering, all to overthrow the original Jedi Order and establish a mere copy of something that has been obsolete for thousands of years. I am stronger, Thought Azimuth, and I will become stronger still. They cannot hold me back.
Then, all at once, something came over him. Something dark, and terrible. It engulfed him like a cold fog, clouding his mind and making his heart race. Where did this come from? If he hadn't been so deep in thought, he would have noticed a strange force nudging his mind. Azmiuth closed his eyes, steadied his breathing, and focused, throwing his senses into the endless void that was outer space. There it was! The source. A planet at the very edge of his perception, there emanated the dreadful aura. He activated every sensor in his fighter's arsenal and scanned the mystery planet. It's computer recognized it immediately and opened the data on the screen. Azimuth examined it intently. Mustafar? Sounds...familiar somehow. Without hesitation, Azimuth activated the ship's warp drive, and he was there, just outside Mustafar's orbit. That dark power was stronger than ever.
Several moments later, the starship lowered itself into the atmosphere and went to land in one of the few suitable locations. Sadly, a safe landing just wasn't going to happen, as the power of Darth Virule's Force Scream slammed into his ship with all the ferocity of a fiery earthquake, utterly destroying his ship's electric system and almost literally shaking it to bits. Azimuth had a little trouble noticing this, as his hands were clamping over his ears and he was screaming in agony. It felt like his head was being split open! After a short time, which felt like an eternity, the blinding white-hot pain subsided and he was able to gain his bearings, only to see his broken ship heading directly for a very solid-looking rocky outcropping. Azimuth swore violently, seizing the controls and doing everything in his power to steer the vessel out of the way, barely managing to make it veer off to the left into a steep canyon. Ejecting to safety finally occurred to him and he pulled the switch, but nothing happened.
The ship abruptly plopped down into the river of molten rock at the bottom of the canyon. He was saved from being crushed to death, only to be left to melt in lava. With no patience left for words, Azimuth growled in anger and stood up in the cramped flight deck, forcing open the hatch and climbing out, taking time only to grab his lightsaber, which thankfully remained untouched. As he dragged himself from the ruined ship, a blast of air hotter than he'd ever experienced struck him, making him sweat bullets almost immediantly. He frantically looked for a solid piece of land he could jump to, but there was nothing. A very loud, very close hiss got his attention. He looked and found his ship was sinking, and the lava was already making short work of the transparisteel hatch. With no other alternative, he took a deep breath, infusing his body with The Force, and jumped at the canyon wall. As his body slammed into the rock, he grabbed onto anything he could to stay there. Luckily the intense heat had caused the rock to crack and deform, making plenty of potential places to anchor himself. Sighing in relief, Azimuth began the long climb up. But...not even that near-death experience could have prepared him for what he would see at the top.
